Umzimkulu Marina Number Two – wake to the Fish Eagles: The pair of impressive and dominating fish eagles that have lived here all the time the lodge has been running, provide endless entertainment. They can be relied upon to wake you each morning, with their melancholy cry of Africa. They prey on the bounty of the river and have been seen taking on really big fish. And even – the otters! And all this you can enjoy from your verandah right there.

Number Two is slightly bigger (than Number One), and features a double bed upstairs, and a set of double bunks downstairs. It has a nice spacious kitchen and lounge and can accommodate a small family, a couple, or a few friends. Tv with a few channels and a DVD player are standard across all the units.

The kitchen is ample and features all you need to self-cater. The braai and outside entertaining area is a lot fun each evening. We can also cater for you on request too – we can serve pizza and seafood – our specialities! There are loads of things to do for both adults and kids. Play areas. Dogs. And…

Fishing with bait or lures can produce catches of the spectacular rock salmon (aka river snapper), garrick, kob, perch and all sorts. On bait anything bites! Even huge crabs and eels! Fishing tackle is available on request. You can rent or buy. We have boats for both the river and for going out to sea. We can take you deep-sea out for marlin, in the estuary for rockies, or garrick from the beach at the Sandspit – a quick boat ride to the river mouth.
